BayToday, in partnership with the North Bay Humane Society, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

Lucas
Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, Lucas is a quiet little dog, curious and calm. He’s a handsome boy, his fur apricot and white, standing just under a foot off the ground. Shy at first, Lucas is loving and kind, quiet and demure, equally happy asleep on a lap or a dog bed as he is patrolling the hallways.
A three-year-old toy poodle, Lucas came to the Humane Society as part of an OSPCA investigation. In the fall, he underwent hip surgery and has taken part in rehabilitation ever since. As he works himself back to full mobility, Lucas is looking for a perfect home for the holidays!
Lucas needs a little love and care to be house-trained and while he’s never been taught to learn tricks, all it may take is a little patience. More exciting is that Lucas is hypoallergenic, so he’s able to be around those usually bothered by fur and dander. Win-win-win!
To meet Lucas, call the Humane Society at 705-474-1251 or drop in to 2060 Main Street West.
