Now that winter is here and we're starting to drop into freezing temperatures overnight, it's a good time to shut off the outside taps and drain them. Most people are aware of where the shut off valves are inside the house but fewer people remember drain them. Look for a small cap on the bottom of the shut off valve, put a small container underneath and remove the cap. you might have to open the outside vale to let the water drain.
