Laureate College is thrilled to host an exclusive workshop, “The Everyday Dance,” facilitated by the extraordinary contemporary dance artist, educator, and writer, Judy Luo. This special event will take place on Monday, February 12, at 7:30 PM, immediately following our Open House at Laureate College. We warmly invite the community at large in Halton Region to join us for this enriching and unforgettable experience.

About the Workshop

“The Everyday Dance” welcomes participants of all ages, abilities, and levels of dance experience. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or have never stepped foot on a dance floor, this workshop is designed to inspire and engage. Judy Luo’s unique approach, informed by her rich international experiences, blends the grandeur of big stages with the magic of the mundane. She invites participants to journey through set exercises and “follow-along” style improvisation, discovering the art of movement hidden in everyday moments.

Meet Judy Luo

Jia Yi (Judy) Luo is a celebrated Chinese-Canadian dance artist based in Toronto, Ontario, whose career spans continents and genres. A former member of the renowned touring company Rambert 2 in London, UK, Judy’s artistic journey is fueled by faith, community, and creativity. With a BFA in Performance Dance from Toronto Metropolitan University and recognition as a laureate of the Hnatyshyn Foundation’s Developing Artist Grant, Judy is a versatile performer and educator. Her impressive credits include collaborations with Nike, SportChek, Tim Hortons, and artists like Feist and Jessie Reyez. Through her work as a dancer, rehearsal director, and writer, she celebrates the intelligence of the body and the joy of movement.
