ANIMAL CAUTION The North Bay Police Service would like to caution the general public in regards to having their dogs run at large. Recently our Service has received complaints from the public that dogs have been seen running at large.

The North Bay Police Service would like to caution the general public in regards to having their dogs run at large. Recently our Service has received complaints from the public that dogs have been seen running at large.

The most recent complaint was a man walking his dog on a leash in the Laurentian Avenue area when a rottweiler attacked them.

This rottweiler wasn't leashed, nor was an owner present. The man received a bite to his hand as well as his
dog receiving a bite to the leg.

Cst. Tanya Whitford of our Service is investigating the incident and does not know the dog's owner.


OFFICERS INVESTIGATE PEDESTRIAN COLLISION
On Feb. 23 Cst. Jason Long and Cst. Barry McIntosh of the North Bay Police Service attended the Commerce Court area of the city in relation to a vehicle/pedestrian collision.

The officers arrived and found that a pedestrian had run in front of a vehicle and then gotten up and enter a building nearby. Witnesses observed this same man then leave the area entirely. The officers attended a residence within the city and saw this same male holding a knife and run from the dwelling. As the man ran he began cutting his wrists with a
subsequent loss of blood. The officers finally manage to subdue this man.
The North Bay and District Ambulance Service then brought him to the hospital. The man sustained serious injuries to both his wrists and suffered a substantial loss of blood. The officers were also covered in a large amount of blood. The man is presently receiving care for his injuries and
was also held for a psychiatric observation. No charges are pending.


FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD WITH KNIFE
On Feb. 17 a 15-year-old boy with a knife confronted a 14-year-old boy outside a local secondary school.

This aggressor wanted to provoke a fight.
A bystander removed the knife and the 15-year-old left.
The next day on Feb. 18 this same boy approached the same male victim within the school and pushed him around as well as struck him in the face.

This caused the victim to suffer cut lips. Cst. Paul Trahan of the school liaison unit
of the North Bay Police Service then received the complaint and as a result arrested a 15-year-old boy on Feb. 23 He was charged with assault and having a dangerous weapon and is scheduled to attend court March 30.
