Renfrew OPP are concerned with the number of intimate partner violence cases they are seeing,
Officers charged five people in the last week for intimate partner violence-related crimes.
On December 4 at 10 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to a domestic dispute on Baldwin Street in the Town of Renfrew.
A 22-year-old from Ottawa was charged with:
- Assault, two counts
- Mischief
- Uttering threats- damage property
The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.
On December 5 at 7:20 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to a domestic dispute on Morgan Clouthier Way in the Town of Arnprior.
A 30-year-old from Arnprior was charged with:
- Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Failure to comply with release order- other than to attend court
- Resist peace officer
- Assault with intent to resist arrest
- Assault- spousal
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, two counts
The accused was held for bail.
On December 5 at 4 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to a domestic dispute on Tom Gavinski Street in the Town of Arnprior.
A 37-year-old from Arnprior was charged with:
- Uttering threats- cause death of bodily harm
- Sexual Assault
- Assault, two counts
- Forcible confinement
The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.
On December 7 at 2:30 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to a report of a dispute between two parties on Wrangler Road in the Town of Renfrew.
A 37-year-old from Arnprior was charged with:
- Obstruct peace officer
- Assault
The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.
On December 8 at 9:45 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to a family dispute on Daniel Street South in the Town of Arnprior.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old from Arnprior was charged with assault
