ROBBERY ARREST On March 11 during the afternoon a man took a cab ride from Mattawa to Lakeshore Drive in North Bay. When they arrived this passenger produced a knife and then demanded and received money.

On March 11 during the afternoon a man took a cab ride from Mattawa to Lakeshore Drive in North Bay. When they arrived this passenger produced a knife and then demanded and received money.

After fleeing the area, the North Bay Police Service was called and a couple of hours later, Cst. Vicky Thisdelle, Ross Lingley and other officers located the man in question near the bus station on Station Road in North Bay. He was arrested.

Bradley Joseph BREEN, 32, of Mattawa, is charged with robbery and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing. The cab driver did not suffer any injuries.

STOLEN CREDIT CARDS RECOVERED
On March 13 during the afternoon hours Northgate Mall security called the North Bay Police Service regarding suspicious behaviour of two individuals who had their credit card transaction refused.

Cst Bill Gainforth and Cst. Helene Boissonneault attended and located two males within the mall. One of them was found to be in possession of a stolen credit card and another stolen credit card was found nearby. Several stores within the mall had made sales to these men.

Graham Allan HODGINS, 29, of Commercial St. is charged with four counts of using a stolen credit card and two counts of possession of a stolen credit card. He is to attend court on May 10.

MISSING MONEY
On March 12 personnel at Wendy’s Restaurant on Lakeshore Drive noticed a bag of cash missing. This bag contained a substantial amount of money and Cst. Jason Long of the North Bay Police Service is presently investigating.

STOLEN TRACTOR TRAILER
On March 13 shortly after midnight a security officer at Laidlaw Carriers on Highway 11 North observed a tractor-trailer leaving the yard. The security officer called company officials and confirmed that this was a theft in progress. The Ontario Provincial Police were contacted and eventually the vehicle was stopped in Sundridge. The officers made an arrest and recovered the unit and it’s load of lumber worth $200,000. For further information please contact the OPP directly.

STOLEN SNOWMACHINE
Overnight March 11 thieves stole a 1991 Yamaha Phazer snowmachine from a trailer on Superior Crescent. The value is approximately $1500 and the keys had been left in the ignition. Another machine, since recovered, was also stolen that evening from the general area. The investigating officer is Jason Long of the North Bay Police Service.
