Driver crashes into guardrail and hydro pole before being arrested

The Huntsville OPP has arrested a woman with impaired-related charges after responding to a single-vehicle accident in Huntsville.

On October 23 at 9:21 p.m., police were dispatched to the scene on northbound Highway 11. The vehicle struck a guardrail and went into the ditch before fleeing the scene. As officers were responding to the call, a second report was received regarding a vehicle striking a hydro pole on South Mary Lake Road.

Police, Huntsville Fire Department, and Muskoka Ambulance arrived on the scene, and the driver was taken to hospital by EMS with minor injuries. Upon investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired-related offenses.

South Mary Lake Road was closed for over three hours.

Sophie Noall, 20, of Port Sydney, is charged with:

  • Operation while impaired 
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Fail to remain

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on December 10 at 9 a.m.
