A weapons call resulted in one person being arrested and charged with numerous criminal weapons offence charges.
On October 17 at 3:30 a.m., Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a call for help at a residence in the Township of Ryerson, where a gunman threatened another person with a firearm.
In addition, at approximately 8 p.m. that night, the Crime Unit executed a search warrant and found and seized numerous firearms and ammunition.
Marc Reaman, 39, of Burks Falls was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm - choke, suffocate, or strangle
- Utter threats - cause death or bodily harm
- Carry a concealed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Four counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Two counts of careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition
- Four counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition
Reaman was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
