Police closed Highway 17 in both directions for just over an hour to investigate a motor vehicle collision yesterday evening.
At 6 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, Fire Services and Emergency Medical Services responded to a single-vehicle accident on Highway 17, Markstay-Warren.
The vehicle had lost control and driven into a ditch. Fire Services extracted the driver from the vehicle, who received minor injuries and was then transported to the local hospital by EMS.
The driver, a 31-year-old person from, Astorville, was charged with careless driving. Police did not name the driver.
