An 53-year-old person from Onaping Falls had succumbed to injuries after being struck by a motor vehicle on Highway 144.
On July 30 at 6:30 p.m., the Nipissing West OPP and Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services responded to an accident on Highway 144 in Greater Sudbury.
A motor vehicle struck a pedestrian in a wheelchair, who was taken to the local hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. The victim later succumbed to their injuries on August 3.
Highway 144 was closed in both directions for about five hours during the investigation.
OPP Collision Reconstructionist and members of the Traffic Collision Investigation Team will continue to assist Nipissing West OPP officers with the investigation, as it is still ongoing.
