Nipissing Serenity Hospice, a 10-bed, bilingual residential hospice, prides itself in offering a peaceful, caring and supportive environment that embraces all without discrimination.
The team at Nipissing Serenity Hospice delivers quality, compassionate and holistic end-of-life palliative care through an expert multi-disciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, personal support workers, social workers, palliative care volunteers and multi-faith chaplaincy to residents of the Nipissing and East Parry Sound districts.
Nipissing Serenity Hospice goes beyond providing essential care to ensure patients and their families are truly comfortable. The staff and volunteers diligently support the loved ones of patients - from the admission process until end of life - and all of their services are free. They work tirelessly to fundraise in order to ensure that they can continue to offer and improve upon the programs at the hospice.
The hospice’s fundraising events have become signatures in the community, allowing others to get involved and help make a difference. The Hike for Hospice event raised over $70,000 last year alone and saw 15 teams and 65 participants participate.
The Health Care award goes to an individual or group that has had an important impact on the health care of the community.
