Scott Kile is the latest to put his name forward for the 2022 North Bay municipal election.
Kile is a longtime employee with Ontario Northland and was the former president of the North Bay AAA Trappers hockey program. He also founded the local Hockey for Beginners program.
Most recently, Kile was a Chief Steward with CUPE local 122 representing municipal and library workers.
"I have worked for small business, private sector, Ontario Government, municipal government, unionized & non-unionized workplaces which have all provided me with a broad spectrum of experiences," said Kile via social media.
Kile, who is recently retired, is hopeful that all of his work as a community volunteer over the last 33 years (as a board member, coach, trainer, course conductor, mentor,...) will inspire confidence in the voters that he is willing to do the hard work necessary for the betterment of our community.
The municipal election takes place on October 24.
Kile is the ninth candidate to file his papers to run for North Bay City Council. All mayoral or council candidates must file their papers before 2 p.m. on Friday, August 19. Candidates for all races will not be certified until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 22.
