North Bay council candidate Darryl Skinner says he's hearing the same thing over and over as he speaks with residents..."Change, we need change.”
In a news release Skinner says he is saddened to hear the distinction of being one of the least transparent cities in Canada.

"This is not something to be proud of," says Skinner. "This is unacceptable. The City Council has a responsibility to be open, and honest and communicate to the people of North Bay.
"Make no mistake, Council serves the community. If they are putting their trust in you at the polls, they must communicate with you. In my books, this is not negotiable."
Skinner says if elected, he will review North Bay’s communication policies and make sure the City is accountable to the people of North Bay.
Another plank in his platform involves the homeless.
"My platform consists of implementing an aggressive plan to get people off the streets. Everyone deserves a roof over their head and I will start implementing this immediately. This is the right thing to do and it must be now."
He's also interested in affordable living.
"This is a serious issue as more Canadians are fighting, inflation, and increased cost of goods/groceries all while taxes and interest rates rise. Council must look after the people of North Bay. Asking for more money from a cash-strapped community is not the right approach."
