Dennis, Albert

Dec. 5,1925 – Feb.13, 2022

In his 97th year, our much loved father passed away peacefully after a long and wonderful life. As he was such a romantic we believe he passed away on Feb 13th so he could be with Mom on Valentine's Day.

Dad was predeceased by his loving wife Betty as well as eight of his siblings.

Dad will be remembered and missed by his six children, Bill (Jocelyn) Dennis, David (Mary Ann) Dennis, Ann (Ray) Kolstad, Michael (Monique) Dennis, Tim (Susi) Dennis, Stephen (Genevieve) Dennis, 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and his sister Phyllis (Tom) Janes as well as many other relatives.

Dad and Mom met in Toronto at a very young age and were sweethearts ever since.

Although Dad lived in Toronto, Sudbury, Huntsville, Oshawa, Stittsville, Dad always considered North Bay home.

At the age of 17 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was a member of the #419 Squadron.  He was deployed to Europe and fought in WWll as a tail gunner in the infamous Lancaster Bomber.  When the war ended he returned home, married his sweetheart and began his entrepreneurial career. His life was very full and busy to provide his family a wonderful life. He first owned his own Service Centre in Sudbury and Huntsville. Dad then became a Certified Financial Planner  with IG Wealth Management becoming Region Manager for North Bay and Sudbury. After 40 successful years with IG, Dad finally retired so he and Mom could spend more time together and with their grandchildren.

Dad's busy life didn't stop with work as he was also very involved with the community, serving on the Mental Health Board, the Waterfront Committee, a Member of Knights of Columbus, Chair of Men's Club at Pro-Cathedral, annual supporter of the Symphony and Cancer Care Volunteer.

For those that knew Dad they knew of his lifelong passion for his beloved Maple Leafs where he remained faithful through his 96 years.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Barclay House in North Bay and Hazeldean Gardens Retirement Home in Stittsville, as well as Dr. Chapman for the love and care they gave Dad during his last few years. It was comforting to know he was being looked after by such caring people.  Thank you!

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Cancer Care
