More than  300 participants, coaches and families are expected to converge on the surface of the Bill Barber Community Complex to take part in the 3rd annual NoahStrong Day Ball Hockey Tournament on Saturday, June 8.

Organizers say the event is sold out.

"The morning affairs will see the grand reopening of the Bill Barber Complex, opening ceremony of the NoahStrong Day and immediately after there will be a ceremonial ball drop featuring the parents of Noah Dugas (Dave & Jody) and sister (Jorja), along with special guests Bill Barber, Don (Butch) Turcotte, and Darren Turcotte," a NoahStrong release stated.

Last year the event raised money for several local organizations including funding for the North Bay North Stars Special Hockey team and $1,000 towards the Callander Food Bank.

The NoahStrong Ball Hockey Day will feature 46 teams, both boys & girls with four age categories including U7, U9, U11, and U13.

Organizers say there will be live entertainment, activities and a silent auction throughout the day. The event is open to the public!

NoahStrong also financially supports many community organizations including the North Bay Santa Fund, Rotary for Kids, One Kids Place and the Holland Bloorview Research Institute.

NoahStrong supports families that are experiencing similar situations through a number of initiatives and programs. Some of these programs include the distribution of comfort packs that are provided to families in crisis and in need of essential items, assisting caregivers with short-term accommodations while their loved ones are hospitalized and the NoahStrong awards and bursaries program that recognizes and supports students who exemplify kindness, strength and leadership.
