There’s always room for a delicious ham over the holidays, and Nipissing Serenity Hospice has one with your name on it.
It’s part of their fundraising efforts, and the holiday ham sale has been a tasty dish for the past 10 years. The hams – Black Forest style – are available for $30. Each is individually boxed and ready to bring home for a holiday feast. Each ham is around 2 kg, and if you like to measure your ham by pound, that’s four and half big ones for you.
Last year, the ham fundraiser brought in $2,000 for the hospice.
Not a ham lover, but want to help the cause? Peter Gregory, with the hospice, noted that “If people want to pay for their hams yet donate them to a good cause then we will give them to the Gathering Place, which is another worth while charity that we need in this city.”

The Nipissing Serenity Hospice is a charitable operation that provides end of life care, and their services are free to all. The hospice staff also put on a variety of workshops and events to help the community. Most of their money to operate comes from donations, and fundraisers. The hospice is located at 799 John Street, in North Bay.
Write that down, because that’s where you’ll be picking up your ham.
To order yours, give Peter Gregory a call at 705-845-1277. He’ll put you on the list, and you don’t have to pay until you pick your ham up at the hospice on Wednesday, December 11th. There is no tax, the ham is $30 even.
If you double check this information on the hospice’s website, you’ll see the closing date for orders is listed as November 29th. Ignore that, ham fans. In the holiday spirit, the deadline has been extended, but you must still act fast.
The new deadline for orders is Tuesday, December 3rd at the latest.
